The QV-PRO is nothing less than an ultimate sports-touring helmet. It features the advanced VAS technology of the also new RX-7V and even shares basically the same outer shell, but with different ventilation. This rounder, smoother and stronger shell with an intermediate oval fit offers the important ‘’glancing off’’ properties needed for superior helmet performance at real world impacts. The QV-PRO features as the second model in line, the VAS (Variable Axis System) visor pivot system that offers a larger smoother and stronger outer shell area. From the very early start, the QV-PRO has been designed as the ultimate all-round helmet with the advanced technology of the RX-7V, but also answering to the demands of the very large segment of sports-touring riders. General:
Outer shell: PB-cLc2 (Peripherally Belted Complex Laminate Construction):
Peripherally Belted Complex Laminate Construction (PB-cLc2) Arai’s proprietary (super fibre belt) Peripheral Belt, borrowed from our F-1 technology, greatly increases shell strength and flexibility while maintaining low weight and a lower centre of gravity. Positioned across the top of the eye port, this band contributes to the use of a thinner EPS liner which greatly enhances the upward field of view. A specially designed “mechanically expanded fibre mat”, sandwiched between the inner and outer layers of Arai’s proprietary Super Fibre Laminates, is used to reinforce and bond these two Super Fibre layers without adding significant weight to the helmet. The latest “Z-Mixture” resins increases material adhesion requiring less resin for a stronger bond between materials for a thinner and lighter shell.

Outer shell: PB-cLc2 (Peripherally Belted Complex Laminate Construction):
- With VAS, the visor mounting position is lowered, yielding an average of an additional 24mm across both temple areas, in pursuit of the ideal smoother shape that increases the ability of glancing off energy. As a result, this has made it possible for more of the shell to be smoother along and above the test line of the Snell standard.

Ventilation
QV-Pro: Optimized ventilation:
- The high-performance ventila­tion system of the QV-PRO was developed to offer all day long comfort to the rider. Large ducts and vents feature massive inlet and exhaust openings, while the large switches can be easily operated, even with thick gloves. It is this advanced ventilation system that makes the QV-PRO perfect for those long rides in every weather.

Free Flow System (FFS):
- Creates airflow under the helmet that reduces wind noise and turbulence while increasing the exhaust of hot air.

Front ventilation:

- Designed for increased airflow and lower noise level, guiding fresh, cool air into the interior.

Brow vents extended to temple area:
- Fresh air can enter directly to the forehead area without the need for holes in this critical area of the shell and impact absorbing liner. For specific models the ventilation is extended to the temple area.

Three position chin vent:
- Three-position chin vent helps in demisting the visor and offering fresh, cool air to the rider.

Rear ventilation:

- To enhance hot-air extraction from the interior. Increases the ventilation effect at the lower part of the helmet.

Side exhausts:
- Produce low pressure behind the rear vent for better hot air extraction. Integrated in the shell for better aerodynamics, reduce wind noise and prevent buffeting at speed. Inside, a small foam dam helps to absorb and diminish excessive noise, without reducing ventilation performance.

Interior:
Antimicrobial Liner material:
- Helps maintain neutral acidity levels close to human skin and antibacterial consumption. With the aim of a softer, deeper and even more comfortable fit we developed a softer liner frame material. The liner also has adjustable temple padding that allows for a customized fit.

- Cheek pads/ear cups may be easily removed. All parts (replaceable or not) can be cleaned with lukewarm water and mild soap. Rinse well after cleaning and never dry in direct sunlight or near a heat source. Interior parts in different size thickness are available for a custom fit for every rider.

- Build in communication systems are popular, but the problem is often that the room for a speaker is limited or just not present, causing unpleasant pressure points. The speaker pockets, offering room for mounting speakers without effecting comfort or fit. (Speaker not included).

- To offer an even better snug fit and enhancing the comfort to the lower jaw, the Facial Contour System (FCS) works with a foam spring support in the cheek pad that compresses and rebounds, providing the necessary support without excessive pressure.

- Arai´s peel-away temple crown pads give the option of 5 mm more interior width* if needed.

Comfort:
Emergency Release System (ERS):
- Allows easier access to an injured rider. By pulling the orange tabs integrated in the pads, the cheek pads slide out. Making helmet removal easier for trained medical personnel and rescuers. Minimising the risk of additional injury.

Emergency Release System (ERS):
- Works in conjunction with the dual-pivot® chin vent to better direct fresh air to the inside surface of the shield while at the same time directing hot breath down and away from the inside surface of the shield.

Breath guard:
- Attached to the bottom of the helmet, the new chin curtain helps to further accentuate the Egg-shape form. The curtain simultaneously blocks air intrusion from turbulent air below and increases negative pressure to enhance the exhaust function of FFS by drawing more air from the mouth area. The improved airflow reduces noise even further.
